Vice-captain James Maddison (27-England) has given a thumbs-up to captain Son Heung-min (31) as Tottenham Hotspur continue their charge to the top of the English Premier League (EPL).

Tottenham won 2-0 at home against Fulham in the ninth round of the 2023-24 English Premier League (EPL) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Thursday (April 24).

Spurs, unbeaten in nine games (seven wins and two draws) since the start of the season, have moved to the top of the table with 23 points, ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal (both on 21 points).

Son Heung-min, who started up front, was the star of the show with a goal and an assist. With his seventh league goal, Heung-min is now second in the league behind Elling Holland (9 goals-Manchester City).

After a light start, Son rattled the net in the 36th minute with his trademark right-footed curling shot after beating a defender in front of the arc. The goal was the result of Tottenham's intense pressure and Son's long range. 바카라사이트

Heung-min combined with Maddison for a beautiful goal in the ninth minute of the second half to make it 1-0. Similar to the first half, after winning the ball through forward pressure, Heung-min didn't get greedy and played a penetrating pass to Maddison, who finished it off.

The pair celebrated with Maddison's "darting serenade".

In a post-match interview with the BBC, Maddison applauded Son for having one of the best partnerships of the season.

"We have a great relationship," he said, "Sonny's a player I've been watching for a long time. It's a lot of fun to play with him."

Madison continued, "He's a world-class player. I don't say that a lot." "We enjoy connecting with each other. We put a lot of effort into training. We're starting to understand each other."

Tottenham manager Enze Postecoglou was also pleased with the performance of Son and Maddison after the game.

"They were brilliant tonight," Postecoglou told Sky Sports, "I think the pressure they put on us (from the front) was the key to us winning the game."

"To be able to score two goals was a result of a lot of hard work and patience," he added.
